Story Moment “I say “packed like sardines,” using a literary image: in reality there wasn’t even space to pack us into. Every point of each of us coincided with every point of each of the others in a single point, which was where we all were. In fact, we didn’t even bother one another, except for personality differences.....” Read the whole story here. What do you think influenced your storyworld and how your contribution turned out? My brain instantly went into 'meltdown' trying to process what the 'entire existence' in a single point would look like. as a self-confessed 'logical thinker' I questioned whether it was a stack of all things. Layers upon layers of everything we know to contain matter. But then of course that has height right?.... then if it's side by side it has a width. So then it's 2D, but alas that has a surface. So as described in the story; it's simply a "." (point). If I were to illustrate this as accurately as I possibly could, I would've taken a Pilot G-TEC Hyperfine (as they call it) pen and landed the tip on the page to create a single dot to submit for Storyworlds. But again that dot would have had width, length, and even some height..... and so the internal questions would have continued. I resided to posing myself another question. "What is this story?" and I concluded "its a story of Creation" What do you think influenced your storyworld and how your contribution turned out? When reading the excerpt from "All At One Point" I happened to be knee deep in research for an upcoming Swedish TV series based in the "Medeltid" (Middle Ages). This was a time when Christianity was infiltrating a nation that was previously rooted in Norse Mythology. Most of the surviving Svenska Medeltid relics, art and architecture I was viewing from this period were of course religious. So then for my brain to process a Creation story it naturally fell down the rabbit-hole of religion. Resulting in the depiction of a contemporary/scientific theory of Creation as an alternative ancient religion. And how that story and its characters would have been depicted and celebrated. |
